Comments:
2-piece table and back, both with single purfling, latter slab cut and highly arched. F-holes have three small holes at each end instead of single eyes. Overhanging edges; tailgut. Current set-up by David Gage, New York, with replacement fingerboard overhanging existing narrow neck, which is too short to hold 7 frets. 2 repair labels: “Restored / by / Benj. F. Alexander / Apr (?) 1940 / Made in 1600” and “B. F. Alexander 1940” (latter on underside of table, seen in owner’s photo made during set-up work c. 1982).
