5-piece table with single purfling (also around soundholes); mahogany back and ribs with no purfling. New neck and pegbox, fingerboard and tailpiece. Website says “by William Turner, c. 1650”; e-mail of 11/02 explains this is based on perceived similarity to Turner bass in Nice (ABON 1 = VME 28). Head is probably Spanish.
