Comments:
Body in pieces (table, back, treble and bass ribs) when seen; no neck or head (but has since been restored?). 2-piece table with BWBWB purfling and coat of arms in red and gold; low-to-moderate arching with noticeable peak along center joint. 2-piece back (flat), also with BWBWB purfling. No sign of ever having had a hookbar. Top block has several holes, some plugged, some open; bottom block missing. 3 crossbars on back, all new; traces of glued-in bass bar, perhaps not original. Repair inscription, in ink inside back of lower bout on treble side, partly obscured by a crossbar: “Reparata da ... eppe / ----- --- ... in Siena”.
