Comments:
Kraft: 7-string pegbox (wormy but with original pegs) and head are old but don’t belong to body, which was probably originally 6-string. Renard provided components, she combined them with new neck; nice sound but very fragile condition; dimensions (from a drawing) 65.2, 29.6/22.3/36.9, 11.4, 69.5. Renard: 2-piece back with single purfling, table with double purfling and false [i.e., non-penetrating?] oval parchment rosette. Carved back and sides of pegbox; head old but not original; neck, fingerboard, and tailpiece not original. Converted to a cello when acquired by Renard in 1994; restoration work done by Sinier de Ridder and Judith Kraft, 2000, for Renard.
