Comments:
2-piece table with moderately high arching and recurve; F-holes rather wide, with top eyes much smaller than bottom ones. 2-piece arched back (catalogue: “coupé de façon irrégulière”); table and back overhang ribs. Neck perhaps original, though doesn’t fit well with squared-off back button; set into table, no sign of frets. Pegbox a combination of delicacy and awkwardness; 2 pegs treble, 3 bass side. Fingerboard has been shortened (by some 2 .5 cm, judging from “shadow” in table varnish) or replaced; tailpiece short, with key-slot holes and ivory saddle; both of solid ebony. Modern violin-style bridge. Top block looks new. Restored by Atelier Véro-Dodat, Paris, 1994 and 1997. Catalogue dimensions (taken on the back): 36.5, 15.8/11.0/20.5, 3.0, -.
