Comments:
Striped back (7 pieces, walnut and yew), 4-piece table with single purfling, walnut ribs. Neck heel and lower part original; rest of neck narrowed, by later 18th-C. hand, who also made upper part of pegbox (top now missing). Pegs don’t all match; 6 reinforcing crossbars on inside of back. Materials, construction techniques, and morphology all characteristic of late 17th-C. French work. String length perhaps a typo for 68.1?
