Not on exhibit, 7/99. Gatti 1997 [NB: Body lengths and widths taken on back]: re-classified as viola da braccio, anon. German, early 20th C; hybrid, with viol’s flat back, body outline, and deep ribs but violin F’s, overhanging edges, and scroll; corners only slightly pointed; NB only 3 strings. 1-piece back, 2-piece table. Gallini 1963: dimensions 41.5, 19.8/12.5/25.0, 6.6, -; 19th-C.; 1-piece table, relatively pronounced arching; 1-piece back; “cassa molto profonda.”
