Comments:

Waterhouse 1998/2010: “treble viol”; striped back (3 dark = stained maple, 2 light = yew: ?) and ribs (3 pieces); double purfling. Original neck with usage marks for 8 frets; 2 pegs treble, 3 bass side. Fingerboard (modern), tailpiece, hookbar of ebony. Modern bridge by Albert Philips (“W.E. Hill & Sons”). Dimensions are from back; rib height probably includes thickness of table and back. Dark striped wood on ribs is considerably faded; cosmetic damage (dark spots, etc.) on table and ribs; head probably by La Fille.
