Back and sides elaborately decorated with painted designs in gold and black; perhaps not original? Extremely ornate pegbox and head, fastened to non-original neck with screws. Double purfling on table; flat back. More likely made in the late 19th century by “Pietro Zenatto ... in Treviso anno 1683” than Zenatto of Brescia in the 16th century.
