Now set up as a baroque cello (ASAI calls it “the Italian 4-string viol”); arched back but sloping shoulders and unpointed corners; wooden endpin. Pegbox sides elaborately carved; graft to neck. Female head has profuse ringlet curls, eye pupils (now) hollow, narrow mouth. Slight width mismatch between neck heel and shoulder ribs.
