Comments:

Martius JCH 15. Otto & Adelmann 1975: “Vom Instrument wurden die falsch ergänzten Teile (Decke, Hals mit Kopf) entfernt”: evidently now only back and ribs. Martius 2015: replacement table (preserved separately; dendrochronology by Micha Beuting gives date of 1801 for youngest growth ring) has F-holes in style of Ciciliano or Linarol; top block is probably remains of original through-neck; neck not original. 7 plugged holes for hitchpins next to hookbar suggest it once had sympathetic strings. Original corner blocks. Label lost, but photo survives. Offered to Ulrich Rück in 1942 as 3 separate pieces (body, table, and neck/pegbox), but he didn’t buy it (see correspondence with Otto Marx transcribed in Martius 2015; they agreed only back and ribs original). Widths from back; Otto & Adelmann 1975 gave body length 49.7, other dimensions the same.
