Fleming 2001: 1-piece (?) table with double purfling; rest of body (as well as neck and head) not original, and even table questionable because it doesn’t use stave construction. Back has restored lower bout fold, no purfling. (H. Harders to TGM, 9/00: neck and pegbox by Kessler; head is old but not original to this instrument.) Made for Music/Sotheby’s: only table is ascribed to H. Jaye; back of walnut, possibly also 17th C.; walnut ribs with neck, pegbox, and head are modern. 1-piece back; double purfling on table; lion’s head is 19th-C. German; body length 36.2, string length 35.1. Bowen 2006: originally rebuilt by Kessler in 1950s. (Jaye probably died in 1636, per Fleming 2016.)
