Fingerboard and tailpiece (not original) have ebony-and-ivory edges; these and neck by Michael Heale (conversation with TGM, 10/01). Sotheby’s dimensions BL 68.3, SL 70.5; female head; photos show double purfling front and back. Montagu 1986: “Riddled with worm”; Montagu 1992: “with a lot of worm”; failed to sell both times. Otterstedt 1986 (no. 8): recently restored, new neck and back of pegbox, also middle and lower bouts on bass side due to worm damage.
