Comments:

Restored by G. Hellwig (for L. Bardo), c. 1970: new neck, fingerboard, and pegs. (Previous neck had been for 6 strings but too narrow.) Monical (via L. Bardo) says head is old, but younger than this instrument. Back and ribs of birch (but plain, not figured Scandanavian). Monical to TGM (9/16) suggests Bohemian c. 1700 (many Prague characteristics and materials) with later head and pegbox c. 1750; label perhaps that of Michael Galbrunner. Restored by G. Hellwig in early 1960s.
