Heyde 1983: Rounded shoulders. Neck, fingerboard and tailpiece, pegs are early 20C. Table and pegbox old but not original to rest of instrument. C-holes essentially centered in middle bout, well above lower corners. Saase 1972: Back and ribs of bird’s-eye maple, purfling on table only; both 2-piece. Neck angled sharply back; face of head looks down into pegbox; carved back and sides of pegbox; pegs have very long shafts. (Suggested tuning E-A-d-g-b-e’-a’)
