6 sympathetic strings, with smaller tuning pegs in pegbox; for bowed strings, 3 pegs treble, 2 bass side. Table and back overhang ribs; arched back; tailgut. Now fretted. Varnish much redone. Restored by Michael Heale; Herzog says “original tailpiece, fingerboard and pegs.” (Colin active 1744-88.)
