Large; very long Fs; table and back overhang ribs. Neck inset into table. Harvard website (8/08): G-violone cut down from larger violone, 17th or 18th cent. (Also: “so altered from its original condition that it is difficult to tell exactly when it was made. However, it has been cut down from a much larger instrument of double bass size and is probably eighteenth century work.”)
