Comments:
Haine & Meeùs: quinton; but has viol corners with no overhanging edges. Ebony and ivory perimeter decoration on table. Soundholes match bass, Brussels 3511. 2 pegs treble, 3 bass side (long). Probably same as instrument which Moens 1980 no. 49 calls “Diskant-Viola da gamba” (though he doesn’t give either number of strings or museum’s catalogue number); exhibited with a viola d’amore and a baryton by the same maker as “spätromantische Interpretationen alter Streichinstrumente”.
