Comments:
Rephann 1988, p. 33; Bonta 1983, p. 27
Osaka 2007, p. 23 (F+B [color]); Rephann 1988, p. 36 (front); Bonta 1983, p. 26 (front; also head 3/4 in color on back cover)
Rephann 1988 (no. 24): probably French, 18th C; altered neck angle; neck and fingerboard “of recent date,” pegbox and head probably also; total length 61.5. Bonta 1983 (no. 22): 1-piece table, arched back with no purfling; graft between (maple) neck and (fruitwood) pegbox, but absence of wear suggests both are probably new; gives body dimensions. (Both classify it as a treble; Pollens 1980 and Osaka 2007 as a pardessus.) La Fille head. Osaka 2007: table of European cedar (?); ebony fingerboard not original; neck heel is 2-tiered.
