Monical 1979: unaltered except bass bar, bridge, soundpost; “lyra viol.” Tourin: 3-piece table. Repair label: “Giovanni Cavani / di Spilamberto (Modena) / Fece l’anno 1899”. Restored 1938 (badly worm-eaten). Designs on fingerboard and tailpiece are inked, not inlaid. Extremely wide C-holes. Prominent knot in wood of table, halfway between end of fingerboard and bass edge. 2-piece table with wings, 2-piece back, both with single purfling.
