New neck, original pegbox. 3-piece table, 2-piece back, both with double purfling. No table ornament (uniquely for Norman basses?); back center BN monogram, upper and lower Type II; triple V at neck. Rib height at center bout 12.4. No back crossbars except soundpost plate. Current bridge made by owner. Label is of type where “Viol in” are printed very close together. Repair label: “Reconverted from cello and repaired by A. Chanot London 1926.” (Owner still has old fingerboard with a full octave of inlaid metal frets, plus matching tailpiece.)
