Schultz 1929, p. 27; Kinsky 1912, 2:457
Arched back, shallow ribs; soundholes in form of digit 3. Had been converted to a cello: neck, pegbox and scroll, fingerboard and tailpiece not original. Kinsky: probably French, 1H17C, though similar in appearance to 16C viols; Schultz: French, c. 1640. (TGM: but all other cornerless viols with 3-shaped soundholes are Italian.) Lost since World War II.
