In his foreword to Lindeman 2011, S. Kuijken writes, “... in 1963 I bought a small six-string gamba from an antique dealer in Brussels for about one thousand guilders, a wonderful object with many old parts and a beautifully hand-written label ‘Pierre Prévost à Paris 1634.’ As a matter of course the instrument ... underwent a loving and thorough restoration carried out by Fred; there was a lot to do, and the results were most successful.”
