Tourin: “definitely da gamba”; neck possibly original. Museum postcard: tenor, Vienna, 1740. Rosette. Attribution needs further investigation: if 1740 date is correct, can’t be the Mathias Fichtl whose widow married G.F. Wenger of Augsburg in 1701 (but could be a namesake son or grandson; or else Martin Mathias Fichtl II of Vienna, c. 1683-1768).
