Dolmetsch 1978, p. 70: “Although its label appears to bear the date 1513, it obviously should read 1713.... It bears a particularly fine carved head of a man crowned with laurel, suggestive of a Roman senator. (...) The purfling is single.” Possibly same as Otterstedt 1986, no. 8: formerly Dolmetsch family, but doesn’t match in date or dimensions; it is the same as Sotheby’s 12/4/91, lot 190 and Sotheby’s 12/12/85, lot 80.
