Hebbert 2003b, p. 39 (L7); Moens 1980; Mahillon 1900, 3:52
On museum’s website (front [color]); [by TGM 6/88: front (color)]; [unpublished, in Heale Archive, from museum: F+B]; [unpublished, from J. Pringle 1/16: F+B full, B body, F orn, S orn]
Not listed under Lewis by Tourin, though Mahillon quotes opinion of Alfred Hill that it is by Lewis. Length and width measurements off Pringle’s copy of a drawing by Raymond Passauro available from museum, so not over arching. (Mahillon: total length 130, max. width 40, depth 13.5.) Moens (Herne 1980) says neck and pegbox are 18th C. French. Museum’s website: “Auteur inconnu / Edward Lewis”.
