Moens 1995: Dendrochronology for table gives c. 1535; but later rings may have been cut off. Interior construction comparable to Brussels 1424. Label matches Brussels 1425 but not Yale Ciciliano. Edmunds 1994: date c. 1581; SL 66. Edmunds 1980 dimensions 59.5, 33.0/-/35.5, 12.5, 63-67. Baines 1966: “? sixteenth century”; shaped end of fingerboards; body length 61 (back), 59.7 (belly). Tourin (seen with table off): table with single purfling, back with none; back and ribs of unknown wood; no back braces; wooden liners but cloth at corners; 2 nails in top block, hole for hook and eye in bottom block; neck not original. Mahillon: viole bâtarde. Hopfner 2008: dendrochronology by M. Beuting (2007) gives date of 1527 for for youngest growth ring on table.
