Martius MH 1. Table with double purfling, multi-level rosette, and integral short bass bar; back with ink purfling and 3 crossbars in addition to soundpost plate; through neck; very small corner blocks. Neck not original; grafted pegbox is carved on back and sides. Earliest known instrument by this maker; interior in very original condition. Back widths 34.3/19.9/27.7. Drawing by G. Liedmeier and 2007 restoration report at museum. Liedmeier: rosette, very narrow C-holes, generous fluting at edges; black fingerboard (does not cover rosette) and tailpiece; measurements 61.2, 27.3/19.9/34.0, 12.3, - (length and widths taken on back, upper at corners).
