Hellwig 2011, p. 334; Otterstedt 2004, p. 121; Hellwig 1980, p. 259; Otto & Adelmann 1975, p. 116

Hellwig 2011, p. 334 (head side [color]); Hellwig 1980, p. 75 (head side); [by TGM 11/10, on display: F+B 3/4, head 3/4 (color)]

Hellwig 2011, TieWV 108; Hellwig 1980, no. 092. Table, neck, fingerboard, and tailpiece not original; 2-piece back (arched and bent); plain, uncarved pegbox. “[M]ore likely by an anonymous north German maker,” according to Hans Reiners in The Strad 112 (2001), p. 501. Otterstedt 2004: dendrochronology (P. Klein, 1993) gives date of 1675 for youngest growth ring on table. Hellwig 2011 adds: peg for top string is closest to nut; dendro dates 1671 (bass), 1674 (treble); only the head is clearly from Tielke workshop; date suggested by G. Hellwig; stylistic details of table point to 19-20C despite dendro dates; authenticity of back and ribs doubtful. (No measurements given.)
