Slowik 1990a (Bach St. John)

2-piece (?) table with slight recurve, 2-piece back, both with single purfling (now very close to edge). Restored by Lloyd Adams for G. Lyman, 1968 (had cello neck when she purchased it); new neck, pegbox, and head by Michael Heale for K. Slowik, 1980. Shoulders not very sloped (perhaps a result of cello conversion). Table varnish darker than rest. Inside of lower ribs lined with new wood; 2 crossbars on back besides soundpost plate; wooden linings to permeter, fold, and back center joint. Repair inscriptions (both in ink inside back fold, in same hand, block capitals): Restored by / Lloyd Adams / Boston Aug 1968 [bass side]; Repaired with new neck / & pegbox with lion head / by Michael Heale / Guildford, England / 1980 [treble side].
