Skjerne 1931, p. 215 (FB+S)

Skjerne 1931: “Alt viola da gamba,” Brescian, c. 1550 (”typical Brescian varnish”). Tourin: treble; dimensions “rough”. Shape “wavy, with one corner” (= upper pair); overhanging edges, high arching, rosette, hookbar; scrolls instead of ears on carved head. (W. Monical to TGM, 7/15: unlikely to have been made much before the 1690's, and most probably German.)
