Head by A. Dolmetsch; he “considered this to be a late 17th-century instrument by an English maker. (...) The body appears to have been thinned down after that time, presumably for use as a viola.” (But rib depth, given as 11.5, must be an error, probably intended as width of middle bout.] Single purfling.
