Hellwig 2011, TieWV 109; Hellwig 1980, no. 093. 2-piece table with double purfling (partly replaced); 2-piece back (arched) with later maple edging. Remenyi): table not original but predates arrival in Toronto; back probably originally had ivory edging; dimensions (as above) from 1974 appraisal by W. Monical. Reauthenticated by F. Hellwig in 2008; until that year, had bridge made in 1976 by D. Kessler, probably for Peggie Sampson. Hellwig 2011 adds: outer portions of table are replacement wood, and purfling has been altered, and same for edging on back (now wood instead of ivory). Dimensions 66, 30.3/22.9/37.4, 12.4, -; back widths 30.7/22.4/37.1. High-quality repairs probably by D. Kessler; no problem with attribution to Tielke, and dating supported by style of carved head.
