Viols for Rent

The VdGSA maintains a rental collection of approximately 40 viols of all sizes on a 12-month rental contract basis (although shorter periods may be negotiated for some instruments). Renters must be members of the VdGSA and pay the rental fee and an insured shipping charge (if the viol needs to be shipped to you) as noted below when beginning the rental contract.

Information about the availability of these instruments can be had from the rental program administrator, Joan Chandler. Requests for information should be sent to joan.chandler@ns.sympatico.ca.

Dominik and Barbara Zuchowicz have initiated a Canadian branch of the program. As the programme grows they are seeking available viols from Canadian members, so if you have one you would like to donate or lend, please contact Barbara. A refundable $100 security deposit must also be paid at the time of renting. When renters terminate the rental and ship the instrument back to the Society (or to a subsequent renter) this expense will be completely reimbursed by the Society.
