A well sounding instrument with a strong lower register and responsive treble strings, this gamba would be great for consort playing. The scroll is the hollowed out type and the top has a beautiful carved rose set just under the end of the fingerboard, which is made out of a piece of Asian Ebony.

Custom made Charlie Ogle bass viola da gamba is both a 6 string and a 7 string. This comes with an interchangable nut, bridge and extra (7th) tuning peg. This is solid construction, with no cracks, scratches or open seams. This has a beautiful, resonant sound comparable to other Charlie Ogle instruments. Strings are virtually new.
