Bass viola da gamba, German made, ca. 1975, no maker identification, with bow.
The viol is similar in style and sound to a Cramer-made viol. Back seam is separated in some places,
it was this way when purchased in 1999 and has not changed.
Comes with hard case, soft case, and foamcore case with wheels.
Stringth length 66 cm.
Peghead tuners installed by Linda Shortridge in 2008.
New bridge and frets by John Pringle in 2008.
Set up by Peter Tourin in February 2010.
Gut strings are approximately 6 months old, made by Damian Dlugolecki.

Custom made Charlie Ogle bass viola da gamba is both a 6 string and a 7 string. This comes with an interchangable
nut, bridge and extra (7th) tuning peg. This is solid construction, with no cracks, scratches or open seams.
This has a beautiful, resonant sound comparable to other Charlie Ogle instruments. Strings are virtually new.
String length from nut to bridge is 67 centimeters. This comes with a snakewood, Marais style bow and 2 cases.
One case is a hard case with 2 bow holders. The other is a padded, soft backpack case, with a large music pocket
and a bow holder. There is also a detachable 2 bow case. $3000.
